Arkansas Tech Storage Packing Guidelines and Service Information


  • Your registration fee does not cover any storage costs.
  • Registration fee includes 5 packing boxes and tape only.
  • Items in storage must include the student's name and ID number.
  • USS does not provide labels. Feel free to label your items in any way you prefer, as long as your information is clearly visible in two distinct places.
  • USS retains the authority to decline the collection of any items that are not properly packed or labeled.
  • All personal items/garments must be enclosed and securely taped.
  • All loose items, such as tennis shoes, lights, and open-faced drawers, must be packaged in a box or storage container.
  • Large items, such as furniture and appliances, must be labeled properly.
  • Tightly tape and bag mattress pads and rugs to protect them from getting dirty during the move. USS is not responsible for stains if items are not bagged.
  • The storage fees will be charged automatically once we have picked up your items. The cost of storage is determined based on the number of items you choose to store.
    • The responsibility of reviewing the pricing lies with the student or their guardian.
    • Brooms, Swiffer cleaners, and other inexpensive products stored outside of boxes or containers will be priced as separate items... please consider when storing.
    • Items like boxes, bags, totes, trunks, or suitcases have a strict 50lb weight limit. Exceeding this limit will result in a $100.00 fee per overweight item.
  • Items not included in a box or container will be kept as is, without bubble wrap or covering.
  • Unboxed TVs and mirrors cannot be claimed if damaged due to inadequate wrapping. View our terms and conditions here.
    • We highly recommend buying bubble wrap on Amazon for fragile items. USS cannot assume any responsibility for potential damages if students decide not to wrap fragile items.
  • Keep your items separate from your roommates'. Place all storage items on your assigned bed.
    • Keep your items together and avoid placing anything under the bed or in a closet.
  • Metal or plastic storage shelves must be disassembled. USS cannot accept responsibility for any potential damage if the shelf is not disassembled.

  • Pick-up dates will be closed 48 hours in advance unless all available time slots are filled before then. Once all available time slots are filled or the date is closed, we are unable to accommodate any additional requests for that specific date/time. 
  • On-campus students at Arkansas Tech University do not need to be present for pick-up. 
  • Off-campus students at Arkansas Tech University must be present for pick-up.
  • Mid-Summer pick-ups are NOT available.
  • Mid-Summer deliveries are NOT available.

  • After pick-up, an electronic pick-up ticket/invoice is sent to the student's billing email. Carefully review the inventory ticket, including pictures and descriptions of all items collected, and report any inconsistencies to USS immediately. If any discrepancies are not promptly reported to USS within 24 hours, we will be unable to address and resolve the issue.
  • The fee per item includes pick-up, storage for a semester (4 months), and delivery in the fall. It is important to note that this cost is not charged on a monthly basis.
  • We will contact you in the middle of the summer to arrange your return details. We will confirm on-campus housing allocations with your university to ensure each room is authentic. Students residing on-campus will have their belongings delivered before move-in.
  • Off-campus students must be present or have someone available to accept delivery. Delivery details will be communicated via email in mid-summer.
