Pack, Label, Prepare for Pick-up!
1. Review your storage pricing and collect the packing supplies (5 boxes, 18x18x24 in size & 1 roll of tape) from the designated location provided by USS.

2. Ensure that you begin the packing process in a timely manner. It is important to have all your items prepared before the designated pick-up time.
3. Ensure that you label all of your items with your first name, last name, and student ID number in two separate locations.
4. When it's time for pick-up, it's essential that you gather all of YOUR belongings together to prevent any mix-ups with your roommate's items. Make sure you don't hide any items in the closet or under the bed. Trust us, they have a way of getting missed!
👉 Hey Tulane on-campus students! You're in luck because you don't have to be there for the pick-up. However, it's super important that you separate your items from your roommates'. Trust us, things can get mixed up or missed during this process!
Box: To ensure the safety of your belongings during transportation, we kindly request that you refrain from folding your boxes shut. Instead, please securely pack all items within the box and make use of heavy-duty packing tape (which is provided with your packing supply kit). This will effectively prevent any items from falling out during transportation.
Plastic Totes: Avoid the temptation to tape multiple bins together or overpacking, but please do take the time to securely tape the drawers shut!
Mirrors: USS won't be able to cover any damages to your mirror if you don't take the time to securely wrap it with plastic wrap or bubble wrap. So make sure to give it some extra protection before packing it up!.
Electronics: If you don't take the time to securely wrap your electronics with plastic wrap, bubble wrap, or store them in a box, USS won't cover any damages. We always suggest ordering a properly sized box on Amazon to make sure your item is packed snugly! USS only offers one box size which is 18x18x24.
Rugs / Mattress Pads: Roll up your rugs / Mattress pads like a pro! And to keep them clean and pristine during transit, we suggest covering them with a bag of some sort.
Metal or Plastic Shelves: If the shelf was assembled, we encourage you to take it apart. We understand that it may be inconvenient, but it is important to ensure the item remains undamaged during transportation and that you can continue to use it throughout your college years.
Minifridges: Don't worry you do not have to pack this item in a box! Make sure to give your fridge a good clean, defrost it properly, and tape the doors shut before pick-up. Remember, if the unit isn't cleaned out beforehand, we won't be held responsible.
Oops! Don't fall into these traps that might lead to unwanted charges!
1. Avoid confusing the scheduled pick-up date with the date when USS delivers your packing supplies ($40.00-$75.00). You can review the packing supply distribution dates above.
2. It is important to be prepared before your scheduled storage pick-up date and time frame to avoid additional charges ($40.00-$75.00). When our team arrives to collect your belongings, it is expected that all items are properly organized and ready for pick-up.
3. It is important to note that packing liquids inside your boxes, suitcases, totes, or duffle bags is not recommended. Please be aware that we do not provide insurance coverage for items that are damaged by liquid.
4. Don't go overboard with packing your box or tote! We totally understand that you want to fit in as many items as possible. However, if your box, tote, suitcase, or duffel bag exceeds 50lbs, you will be charged a ($100.00 overweight fee) + the storage cost of the item. In such cases, it's more cost-effective to store your belongings in two separate boxes instead!
